It has recently been revealed through DNA research that the Afghan Hound breed is one of the most ancient dog breeds. Afghan Hounds were used to hunt wolves, gazelles, and foxes. They are a sight hound. An Afghan Hound was the first cloned dog in history! Rita from Oliver & Company and Sylvie from Balto were both Afghan Hounds.
